L'Oreal Elvive Oil Replacement - Review

L'Oréal recently added a new addition to it's already existing Extraordinary Oil range, Nourishing Oil Replacement.

Well, that sounded something new and different, and I couldn't stop myself from trying it.

I've been using it after every hair-wash for the past month, and I think it's right time I give you my view on this. And I'm personally hooked by this oil replacement!

Product Features:

Elvive Extraordinary Oil- Oil Replacement, the 1st hair cream* infused with Oleo-Keratin and Argan oil that deeply nourishes your hair with its creamy texture leaving it healthy, smooth and shiny.

  • Prodigious smoothness
  • Natural Shine and velvet touch
  • Expert care for each hair type
  • Normal hair tends to dry out; it becomes devitalized, dull and lifeless
  • For hair full of life, you need to take care of it from the roots and nourish it from the scalp

Ingredients:

Elvive Extraordinary Oil -  Oil Replacement is one extraordinary product enriched with Oleo-Keratin and Argan Oil that gives maximum nourishment to the hair, making them healthier, smoother, and shinier.
It does contain the original L'Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil but without the greasy texture.

Hailed as liquid gold in its native Morocco, Nutty argan oil is rich in fatty acids and vitamin E, it can help turn dry, coarse and unruly hair into softer and shinier, more manageable tresses, while cutting frizz and fly-aways too.

Texture & Fragrance:

It is a white color cream of thick viscosity, not too thick nor too thin. Its just perfect. It blends in so well without greasing hair.

The other thing you would notice is its captivating fragrance; Such a pleasant fragrance, very fruity and floral. It feels just like you have a hair mist on.

Packaging:

L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Replacement comes in a good quality squeeze tube with a flip open cap. The color scheme is the same as rest of the L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Range. Gold Copper.

Usage Instructions:

The Extraordinary Oil Replacement can be used in multiple ways and at any time.

  • Before bath - apply a generous amount on dry hair - leave on as long as you wish then shampoo.
  • During bath - apply on shampooed hair then rinse.
  • After bath - apply starting from the tips and continuing along the lengths.
  • On wet hair, apply a small amount before blow drying.
  • On dry hair reapply everyday as a finishing touch for even more smoothness.

How I like to use:

Before bath, I apply a generous amount on my dry hair treating it as a leave-on conditioner for the day. While the cream feels light, I feel that my hair get a little heavy and become a bit oily as the day wore on.

After bath, I tend to apply a coin sized dollop (a little goes a long way) into the palms of my hands, rub together and then apply to sections of my hair - repeating if necessary. I mostly apply it to wet hair, before blow drying and I can say that it works better this way for me as it helps them become smoother and less frizzy.

Dry Hair, After I'm done drying my hair, I rub a small drop into my palms and massage through my hair for a finishing touch. This adds a nice shine to dull looking hair.

My Viewpoint:

Having natural wavy hair with a lot of unwanted frizz gets annoying to be honest. And this little product here is the perfect solution to that.

I love how my hair responded to this product. It did not weigh my hair down but tamed down the frizz and flyaway hair to an extent. They're a lot easier to blowdry. I actually think it makes my hair so much more manageable and easier to style - bonus!

I'm really impressed with it. If you have curly hair then you know how hard it is to get a silky finish when you straighten it. I have actually noticed a huge difference when I don't use it.

Tip:

If you have finer hair or perhaps are using the L'Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil Replacement for de-tangling purposes, opposed to extra nourishment, mix a little of the product with water and create your own conditioning spray.

Those of you who face hair-breakage while de-tangling them, try it that way and you gonna love this.

I would definitely recommend this product if you're fighting with frizzy hair!

Let me know how you deal with your frizzy hair? Make sure to share this post with your friends who have frizzy hair!

I hope this post and product really helps you fight your frizzy hair and do share if you have some tips to control fizzy and dry hair.

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Colors - Review

Dipping your fingers into the world of nude lipsticks can be tricky. You just have to find THAT ONE perfect shade that works best for you.

I have found a lipstick range which is opaque, semi-matte, doesn't cake, and heaven to apply.
YES! I'm talking about the much raved Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Colors in Bare It All (902C) & Rosebud (904B). I think many people love this brand for being just so easy on the pocket and impressive quality. Retailing at just 18 AED or $3, It's a major beauty bargain. You can easily buy several shades without breaking the bank.

Bare It All (902C) can be described as a light/medium rosy-brown nude shade with a hint of peach and warm undertones. It has a semi-matte finish. The color is very pretty and subtle. For me, it's the perfect nude that I have been looking for. It hits the right balance of being not too light or dark, not too pink or brown.

Rose Bud (904B) is mid-tone rose shade that is super flattering and doesn’t lean too cool or too warm. It captures the beautiful color of real roses and adds a pretty natural and subtle pinky-ness to your lips. It's like having a light strawberry red stain on your lips.

The colors are great and formulation is heavenly. These lipstick have a rich creamy texture; You can’t actually say that it’s a matte due to its creamy consistency. These lipsticks are semi matte and will not dry out your lips at all. At least not for me! But I've read some people complaining that they tend to dry out after couple of minutes or without wearing a lip balm. Luckily, I didn't have to face that. It just stayed really smooth and fresh on my lips.

Both the shades are super pigmented, so just one or two coats and you're good to go.

They also have wide variety of shades, and each shade is BEAUTIFUL. Many shades are said to be dupes for MAC shades. Just do a little googling and you can find out what shades are dupes.

These two colors are pretty close dupes to the MAC ones, Rosebud to MAC Fanfare and Bare It All to MAC Velvet Teddy.

Staying Power

This 4-hour, longwearing lip color leaves a semi-matte, crème finish in one stroke. Glides on easily with rich, velvety color that doesn't cake, feather, or bleed. Made with hydrating skin-care ingredients: Hyaluronic Microspheres provide extraordinary adhesion to lips, an exclusive polymer complex offers cushion-like feel and texture, and natural marine plant extracts Coenzyme Q10 and Vitamins A & E help smooth lips. (source)

They claim that these last for up to 4 hours and glide on easily with no feathering, bleeding or caking. Those claims are all pretty much true! Both lipsticks, probably since they're on the matte side, stay on for a good 4-5 hours with no eating, and a bit less if you do eat or drink during the day.

Packaging

Then there's the packaging!

The major drawback of the lipstick range is the packaging. It is awful. The product itself is sticking out of the container and putting the cap back to it's place is just so annoying! It just nicks with the lid every time you put it back on. Lipstick marks all over the cap, Just hate that!! The cheap packaging is my least favorite part about it.

I really can’t complain at this small price tag. They're super cheap though, so I'll probably still end up repurchasing them because the colors and quality is just so great.

I truly think these are some good lipsticks. They have their faults but what doesn’t?

I would recommend trying these lipsticks, and I will probably purchase other colors.

Let me know if you have tried these out before and what are you think about them, and if you haven't, Just go for it!

Royal & Langnickle - MODA Full Face Brush Set : Review

I've been wanting to add some more brushes to my stash. On just a random trip to Lifestyle, I spotted Royal & Langnickel, which is renowned worldwide for their art brushes.

After the brand name caught my eye, It was the price, where the sets of six brushes with a travel size flip kit, was for just Aed 69, being the minimum price of a single Real Techniques brush, it was definitely a steal! Without a second thought I just grabbed it right away. I thought at that price they would be a good stand in and as they were so cheap if they turned out to be rubbish it wouldn't be a big deal.

With tons of vibrant metallic colors to choose from, I picked Black but there was also red, blue, white and purple, and they've just released Pink!

To my surprise, they turned out great. They're incredibly soft and dense! All the brushes from Royal & Langnickel are 100% Vegan, the synthetic hair are apparently made from the highest grade to mimic natural hair. Which gives a smoother application of your makeup.

I have been using these brushes for a month now and I can tell you that these brushes are incredibly soft yet sturdy, they're are soft as Silk! The MODA Total Face 7pc Brush Set included a white travel case alongside powder brush, flat foundation brush, smokey eye, angel eyeshadow, lip and brow brushes. Slightly shorter handled than most brushes I own, they aren't full size and easy to carry in hand bag.

Synthetic hair stayed attached to the brush and did not shed a single hair onto my face. I have washed them thrice till now and they're still as good as new! And also the ferrules will not loosen or detach, even if soaked in warm water. This really makes them stand out in other low range brushes.

The brushes feel heavy, but they're very sleek with matte rubberized handle. The colors were so vibrant to catch your eye right away! And most of all, they're vegan, and really really soft. They're just so pleasant to use.

This brush set included everything you need to apply full face basic make up.

  • Powder brush

Being the most softest and fluffiest brush in the whole set, I just love how soft it feels on my face blending the powder so well. It's great for dusting powder all over your face. I use it with any loose, pressed powder and blushers.

  • Foundation brush

I've used this brush few times already, and it does a really good job blending any type of foundation. I haven't used a foundation brush before, as I always preferred sponge blenders. But it gives a pretty decent coverage, not super heavy as you'd get with a beauty blender. But it works great to achieve a medium coverage.

  • Smokey eyeshadow brush

The smokey eye brush can be used to blend a darker color into the lash line and crease, and it blends really well. It is the most sturdy brush of the set. Really great to smudge and blend out any product. I also use it to smudge any dark color on my lids and crease as well.

  • Brow brush

I don't usually do my brows as I have really dark brows, but I use this brush to just fill any gaps with some dark brown or black eyeshadow.

  • Angle eye brush

The angle brush is perfect for applying eye shadow on lids and into the crease. I used it to color my crease and it provided a really even color and the shadow just seemed to look better.

  • Lip brush

I haven't used the lip brush yet, but I guess I'll be using it for concealer or to highlight inner corners of my eyes.

Overall I just Loooove these brushes, and I'm really happy I picked them up.

I highly recommend the Royal & Langnickel brushes because they will make your makeup so much easier and quicker. There is just something about the bristles that make them blend liquid, cream, and powder products effortlessly and without shedding a single hair.

You can find them at all Lifestyle stores across UAE. Or just click here to shop online.
Also, you can visit Royal & Langnickel to buy from their website.

Starter Kit - Face Makeup

Where makeup is making it's way through, there are still many girls beginning with makeup, who are not much aware of good products in the market.

When I started with makeup, I was so clueless, I used to get pretty confused while shopping for even basic products. I didn't know how they would turn out on my skin, whether they'll provide good coverage or last for good. No doubt makeup is the most confusing thing, especially for beginners. All those racks loaded with beautiful products to choose from! With that being said, I faced this struggle for a long time.

But now after that time of struggling with so many products I'v finally found top drugstore makeup products that I've compiled for all you beautiful girls!

Today I'm just gonna share with you somethings that I like from the drugstore.

Let's get started!

Part 1 : FACE MAKEUP

1- Liquid foundation

It is always important to get a foundation that is suitable for your skin type and matches your skin tone, plus, easy to use. I would prefer liquid foundation since it is pretty easy to use, especially for beginners, and has build-able coverage. I'v used stick foundations also but that's so much mess and hard to blend.

Light - Medium Coverage

Rimmel Perfect Match ( for dry skin)

Rimmel Lasting Finish ( for combination or oily skin)

Medium - Heavy Coverage

MaxFactor FaceFinity All Day Flawless 3 in 1

Bourjois Healthy Mix

2- Setting powder

I used to wear ONLY face powder when I started with makeup, like literally, even now, if I'm leaving in a hurry, I would just puff on some face powder to even out my skin and take away all the shine from my face and prevent it getting oily. If you have oily or combination skin, use a pressed or loose setting powder to prevent shine and make your makeup last longer.

Medium - Heavy Coverage

Bourjois Silk Edition

MaxFactor Creme Puff

Rimmel Stay Matte

3- Concealer

I don't like to hide all the imperfections from my skin, so I don't use any concealer, and don't own one. Yes, you read it right. I don't have any concealer in my stash! But if you have and like to hide dark circles, blemishes, and discoloration on the face I would suggest you to use a concealer one shade lighter to your skin tone to cover them up.

Under Eye Concealer
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind

Rest of the Face
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer

5- Blusher

Blushes liven up your complexion, and give a perfect pop of color to your cheeks, it makes your skin look healthy and glowing. Powder blushes are easy to apply and blend as compared to cream blushes. I would recommend you to use powder blush if you're starting with makeup.

NYX Blush

L.A Colors Mineral Blush

Rimmel Blushes

6- Contour (optional)

Contouring gives a nice sculpted look to your face.

Elf Contour Pallete

Wet n Wild Contour Pallete

MUA Bronze & Sculpt Kit

7- Foundation brush/sponge

I'm not of those who would spend $20 on a Sponge! With all that hype beauty blenders got, there are many dupe's available in the market. I got mine from a local store for $5 only! And trust me, it works wonders for me.You can also use your fingers to blend in your foundation, but using a proper foundation brush or blending sponge will give you better finish.

Here are my recommended face products from the drugstore, What are your drugstore favorites? Comment them below!

Top 5 Beauty Hacks

We all are beautiful, with or without make up. Still some like to spend time priming and polishing in order to get the perfect look they want. While every woman is beautiful in her own right, it is no secret that there are some who look like they spend much more time with their beauty routine than others. However, this does not mean that every beautiful woman in the world spends hours getting ready every morning.

From hair to makeup, there are hacks or shortcuts that you can use to enhance the beauty that already exists and help you to look like you spend hours doing so, while in reality you may only have to spend a few minutes. These shortcuts will help you to save time and get that model look.

In this post, I have compiled 5 beauty hacks that are easy, inexpensive and best of all, very effective. With these simple hacks, you can achieve your desired look within minutes.

 1. Use Baby Powder To Lengthen Your Lashes

False lashes can be a pain, time consuming as well! You don’t have to wear false lashes to get that long, full look. Follow the steps to achieve the crazy long lashes without the hassle.

Apply one coat of your favorite mascara after curling your lashes. Then, with a Q-tip or any eye shadow brush, dust baby powder or setting powder all over your lashes, and apply a second coat of mascara. And it will adhere to the powder to create natural extensions! Powder creates a base that makes them appear much fuller.
You can repeat this step till you achieve your desired result.

When applying your mascara, don’t just move your mascara wand from the base of your lashes up. Make sure to move the mascara wand back and forth while going up. The left and right motion will make sure every lash is covered entirely, all the way to the tip.

Skip the falsies for your next night out!

2. Use Business Card As A Mascara Shield

After creating those beautiful eyes, applying mascara can be a tricky business, which is why I love this genius trick. Hold any business card up to your lashes, then go crazy with the mascara. Your lashes will get properly coated to the very root, and any excess mascara will end up on the card, instead of your face!

*Clean the card off with a makeup removing wipe before you put it on your other eye.

3. Set Lipstick to Last

Lipstick tends to rub off, smudge and not look as great as it does when you first apply it. Now solve this problem with a tissue , a bit of foundation and translucent powder. While you're applying foundation, apply little bit over your lips too; before applying lip color. Now, when you have applied your desired lip color, just hold a tissue over your lips lightly and dust just a bit of translucent powder over the tissue. This helps to set the lipstick so that it lasts longer; giving it a matte look.

4. Hide Those Dark Circles

Dark circles are one some of the hardest things to cover in the world. But you can thank concealer for covering up those dreadful blemishes, dark circles and mask the appearance of under eye bags. Here I have a life changing tip to cover under-eye circles for all the girls who can't get the perfect concealed look.

There are many different ways and makeup hacks that can make the process easier and more effective. Dab an orange or peach colored corrector over dark under-eye circles. The orange or peach tones will cancel out the blue shadows that your under-eye circles give off. Top the orange or peach corrector with a concealer that matches your skin or is a shade lighter than your skin tone.

The most flattering way to apply concealer is to draw a triangle with the base under your eye and the point toward your cheek.

This shape not only conceals dark circles, but it also instantly creates the illusion that your face is lifted, drawing the focus upward.

5. Make Eyes Appear Bigger

If you don’t already own a white pencil, invest in one now to get those beautiful wide eyes!

Filling in this area with a dark liner looks sultry. But it can also make your eyes look about half their size. Instead of lining your water line with dark eyeliner, use a white pencil to create the illusion of a bigger eye. It will instantly open and brighten them up. You’ll see what a difference it really makes.
